Privacy policy.

Shiftstone LLC ("Shiftstone", "we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through shiftstone.ai and the AI Fluent™ training portal at workshop.shiftstone.ai (together, the "Services"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact form and email. Your name, email address, company, the topics you're interested in, how you found us and anything you write in your message.
- AI Fluent™ accounts. Your name, email address and password (stored only as a one-way encrypted hash), the sign-up code or organization you joined through, and any files or text you choose to submit.
- Client engagements. Information our clients share with us to deliver our services is governed by our agreement with that client, in addition to this policy.
Information collected automatically
- Usage in AI Fluent™. The exercises and steps you complete, your levels, reps and streaks, so you can pick up where you left off.
- Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic request data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested and the time of the request, to keep the Services secure and running. We use this data to block abuse (for example, limiting repeated form submissions).
- Cookies. shiftstone.ai does not use advertising or tracking cookies. AI Fluent™ uses a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. If we add privacy-friendly analytics, we will update this policy.
How we use information
- To reply to your inquiry and arrange meetings you ask for.
- To provide AI Fluent™: create and secure your account, save your progress, help our team support your learning and, for client programs, report training progress to your organization.
- To deliver, support and improve our services.
- To keep the Services safe, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with the law.
- To send you service messages, such as password resets. We send marketing emails only if you've asked for them, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only:
- With service providers who process it on our behalf under contract, such as website and application hosting, database and file storage, and email delivery. They may use it only to provide services to us.
- With your organization, if you joined AI Fluent™ through your employer or another organization: we may share your name, email and training progress with it.
- For legal reasons, when required by law or to protect the rights, safety and property of Shiftstone, our users or others.
- In a business transfer, such as a merger or acquisition, subject to this policy.
AI tools
We do not use the personal information you give us through the Services to train AI models.
How long we keep it
We keep contact inquiries for as long as needed to respond and maintain our business relationship, and AI Fluent™ account data while your account is active. When you ask us to delete your information, or it is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it unless the law requires us to keep it.
Security
We protect personal information with industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access limited to people who need it, and providers with strong security programs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you if required by law.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, delete or provide a copy of your personal information, or to stop sending you marketing emails, by emailing hello@shiftstone.ai. Depending on where you live, including California and other U.S. states, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, you may have additional rights, such as to object to or restrict certain processing or to appeal a decision about your request. We will respond within the time the law requires, may need to verify your identity, and will not discriminate against you for using your rights. You may use an authorized agent where the law allows.
If you are in the EEA or UK, we process your information to respond to requests you make and to perform our contracts with you (contract), for our legitimate interests in running and securing our business (legitimate interests), with your consent where we ask for it, and to comply with the law. You may complain to your local data protection authority.
International transfers
We are based in the United States, and our service providers process information in the United States. If you use the Services from elsewhere, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States, with appropriate safeguards where required.
Children
The Services are meant for businesses and professionals and are not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal information; if you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Our pages may link to other sites, such as LinkedIn. Their privacy practices are their own; please review their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here with a new effective date and, for material changes, give notice through the Services or by email.
