Terms of service.

Effective October 25, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Shiftstone LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("Shiftstone", "we", "us") and govern your use of shiftstone.ai and the AI Fluent™ training portal at workshop.shiftstone.ai (together, the "Services"). By using the Services, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you use the Services on behalf of a company, you agree for that company and confirm you have authority to do so. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services.

1. Who may use the Services

You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a binding contract. The Services are meant for business and professional use.

2. Client engagements

Consulting, training, implementation and other paid work is provided under a separate written agreement between Shiftstone and the client. If that agreement conflicts with these terms, the agreement controls for that work.

3. AI Fluent™ accounts

• Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your password private. Each account is for one person; don't share it.
• You are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us right away at hello@shiftstone.ai if you think someone else has used it.
• Sign-up keys are for the people they were given to. We may change what's included in free access, end free access, or close accounts that break these terms.
• If you joined through your employer or another organization, that organization may control your access and see your training progress.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• copy, resell, republish or redistribute our training materials, exercises or other content, or use them to run training for others, without our written permission;
• use the Services to build or train a competing product or service;
• scrape, crawl or bulk-download the Services, or get around any access limits;
• try to break, probe or overload the Services or their security, or access accounts or data that aren't yours;
• upload anything unlawful, harmful or infringing, or anything containing viruses or malicious code;
• use the Services in a way that breaks the law or the rights of others.

5. Our content

The Services and their content, including training materials, exercises, text, graphics, video, the Shiftstone name and logo and AI Fluent™, belong to Shiftstone or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable license to use them for your own learning and internal business purposes while you follow these terms. We keep all other rights.

6. Your content

You own what you submit through the Services, such as messages, answers and files ("Your Content"). You give us a license to host, store, copy and process Your Content only to provide and improve the Services for you and to keep them secure. You confirm you have the right to share Your Content.

Please don't submit sensitive information to AI Fluent™ that it doesn't need, such as protected health information, payment card numbers, government ID numbers or your company's confidential data, unless your organization's agreement with us covers it.

7. Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

8. AI tools and outputs

The Services teach and use artificial intelligence tools. AI output can be wrong, incomplete or out of date. Review it before relying on it, and use your own judgment. Nothing in the Services is legal, tax, financial, medical or other professional advice.

9. Third-party services

The Services may link to or work with tools and sites we don't control, such as AI model providers, productivity software and LinkedIn. Your use of them is governed by their own terms and policies, and you pay any fees they charge directly. We aren't responsible for third-party services.

10. Fees

Free access to AI Fluent™ is free. Paid services are priced and billed under your written agreement with us.

11. Copyright complaints

If you believe something on the Services infringes your copyright, email hello@shiftstone.ai with: your contact details and signature; the work you believe is infringed; where the material is on the Services; a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized; and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner. We may remove material and end the accounts of repeat infringers.

12. Ending your use

You may stop using the Services at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or to protect the Services or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive will survive, including 5 to 8 and 13 to 17.

13. Disclaimers

The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, Shiftstone disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We don't promise that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or that any content is accurate or complete.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Shiftstone and its owners, employees and suppliers won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from or related to the Services, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability for any claim related to the Services is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for the Services in the 12 months before the claim or US $100.

Some places don't allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

15. Indemnity

You agree to defend and indemnify Shiftstone against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Services, Your Content or your breach of these terms.

16. Disputes

If you have a concern, email hello@shiftstone.ai first. Most issues can be resolved quickly that way, and we'll try in good faith for 30 days before either of us goes to court. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Delaware. Each party may seek emergency relief from any court to protect its intellectual property or confidential information.

17. General

These terms, together with the privacy policy and any written agreement with us, are the whole agreement about the Services. If any part is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our not enforcing a term isn't a waiver. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. Neither of us is liable for delays caused by events beyond reasonable control.

18. Changes

We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date and, for material changes, give notice through the Services or by email. Continuing to use the Services after changes take effect means you accept them.
